Welcome to Freshzy. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree, please don't use Freshzy.

What Freshzy does

Freshzy is a food management app that helps you keep track of what's in your fridge, freezer, and pantry. You can scan barcodes, log expiry dates, get reminders before food goes bad, and build shopping lists — all from your device.

Expiry dates and Smart Insights (AI)

Freshzy may suggest estimated expiry dates, freeze durations, or shelf life for certain food categories. These suggestions are approximate guidelines only and should not be treated as definitive. Freshzy may suggest estimated expiry dates, shelf life, and "Smart Insights" (such as pantry summaries, contextual tips, or a weekly digest) generated using artificial intelligence (Apple Intelligence). These suggestions are approximate guidelines only and should not be treated as definitive or as professional advice.

  • Estimated dates are based on general food category data and may not reflect your specific product, storage conditions, brand, or packaging.

  • Always check the actual expiry or best-before date printed on the product packaging.

  • Always use your own judgement — look, smell, and check food before consuming it, regardless of any date shown in Freshzy.

  • Freshzy is not a food safety authority. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any suggested date, and we are not responsible for any illness, food waste, or other consequences resulting from reliance on estimated dates.

  • Estimates and AI suggestions are not infallible. They are based on general food category data and automated logic, and may not reflect your specific product, storage conditions, brand, or packaging.

  • Always check the actual product. Always verify the actual expiry or best-before date printed on the product packaging.

  • Use your own judgement. Always look, smell, and check food before consuming it, regardless of any date or suggestion shown in Freshzy.

  • Not food safety advice. Freshzy is not a food safety authority. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any suggested date or AI insight, and we are not responsible for any illness, food waste, or other consequences resulting from reliance on these automated suggestions.

Your data

Your food items, shopping lists, and preferences are stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, backup data may also be stored in your iCloud Drive. We don't operate servers that store your personal data. For full details, see our Privacy Policy

Subscriptions and purchases

Freshzy offers optional in-app subscriptions and one-time tips to support development. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID and billed by Apple.

  • Free trial: If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

  • Renewal: Subscriptions auto-renew unless you turn off auto-renewal in your Apple ID settings at least 24 hours before the current period ends.

  • Cancellation: You can cancel anytime through Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you'll keep access until then.

  • Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. Any price changes will apply to the next billing cycle after the change, and you will be notified in advance by Apple.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app.

  • Use the app for any unlawful purpose.

  • Attempt to interfere with the app's functionality or bypass any access restrictions.

  • Redistribute or resell the app or any of its content.

Intellectual property

Freshzy, including its design, code, icons, and content, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the app without our written permission.

Product data retrieved via barcode scanning comes from Open Food Facts, an open-source database licensed under the Open Database License (ODbL).

Disclaimers

Freshzy is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

  • We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of bugs.

  • We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any product data retrieved from third-party sources (including Open Food Facts).

  • We are not liable for any data loss resulting from device failure, iCloud issues, or app deletion.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all liability for any damages arising from your use of the app.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, food spoilage, health issues, or any other damages arising from your use of or inability to use Freshzy.

Third-party services

Freshzy uses third-party services (Open Food Facts, Mixpanel, Sentry, RevenueCat, Apple iCloud) as described in our Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these services.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Freshzy after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Freshzy if you violate these terms. You can stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these terms will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
